Who We are

The Regional Statistical System Office (Technological Innovation Area, Management of Information and Statistical Systems, Urp - Regional Directorate for Institutional Affairs, Personnel and Information Systems), was established with the regional law n. 47 of 30 October 1998.
The law gives it a dual role: that of the Statistics Office, in implementation of Article 5 of Legislative Decree n. 322/89, which represents the Region within the National Statistical System (SISTAN), and that of coordination and direction of the Lazio Regional Statistical System (SISTAR), established by the same law.
The activity carried out by the structure is therefore oriented on several fronts:

- fulfills the tasks deriving from belonging to the SISTAN as Regional Statistical Office, in particular, it handles relations with ISTAT and the other System Bodies and the attributions provided for by the National Statistical Program;

- in implementation of Law No. 47/98, which established the SISTAR, coordinates relations with the regional statistics offices to promote the development of a regional statistical network system;

- prepares the Regional Statistical Program, a programmatic document for regional statistics, which identifies the priorities of the actions in light of the information needs of the Bodies;

- acquires, processes and disseminates data of regional interest as well as designs and implements information-statistical systems to support government activity;

- collaborates in specific projects related to the institutional activities of other regional structures and responds to requests received from other public and private bodies and organizations regarding participation in projects or data provision;

- favors statistical culture by promoting training and updating activities in statistical methodologies;

- represents the Region at CISIS (Interregional Center for Information, Geographic and Statistical Systems), technical body of the Conference of Presidents of Regions and Autonomous Provinces.
